Message from the Head Teacher

Asslamualaikum warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,

I pray that you are in the best of health and Iman.

For over 20 years I have walked through the corridors and classrooms at Manchester Islamic High School for Girls, and each time I have noticed that the excitement is palpable: you can feel the energy in the corridors, and grasp the wonder of discovery in the classrooms as students and teachers engage in learning.

We at Manchester Islamic High School for Girls demand academic excellence.  We believe in the importance of education being delivered to our daughters in a warm, safe and Islamic environment.  We strive because we believe our daughters deserve to receive the best education, giving them the skills to flourish beyond the classroom and develop into strong Muslimah’s that will benefit the Ummah and wider society.

We are aware our daughters will be the future ambassadors of Islam and the mothers of the next generation, so it is paramount we create the perfect package for the transition from ‘growing Muslims girls’ to ‘Independent young British Muslim women.’  At Manchester Islamic High School for Girls, our teachers from all backgrounds have always gone and continue to go beyond their call of duty to ensure that the daughters of this Ummah fulfil their potential and become successful, independent young British Muslim.

The staff at Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is committed to providing an exciting curriculum supported through a full range of extracurricular opportunities that allows pupils to realise their full academic, physical and social potential.  We continue to enhance and develop our curriculum to ensure it meets the needs of all learners as they progress through their five years in our care, providing opportunities for enrichment to develop wider aspects of learning and personal development.

As the world around us is rapidly changing, it is crucial to balance Islamic knowledge and moral values which need to be carried into wider society responsibly.  We at Manchester Islamic High School for Girls have worked hard to achieve this balance.  Our team of dedicated staff are equipped to educate, nurture and support each individual pupil; spiritually, emotionally and socially during their time here.  These qualities will be enhanced as they progress towards achieving their ambitions and enjoying their life as a positive role model in society.

Manchester Islamic High School for Girls was established in 1991, despite the school having made huge strides, our mission and values have always remained the same and continue to be based on the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw) and teachings of the Qur’an.  With the multi-cultural society we live in, we have taken lessons from the Sunnah of the Prophet (saw), as we as a school believe it is paramount that pupils have understanding and respect of different faiths and cultures, therefore regularly organise community events.  The pupils at the school come from diverse backgrounds, allowing pupils to become aware of different practices and have a mutual respect and understanding of them.

If you are looking for a school that provides outstanding academic achievement, a school that has established a solid foundation towards understanding Islam, a school that works alongside parents to develop dedicated, articulate, aspirational and intelligent British Muslims, then I strongly believe that Manchester Islamic High School for Girls is that school.

Walaikumsalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu
