Duke of Edinburgh

For MIHSG, 2013/2014 was an exciting year!  Miss S Hughes, the Head of PE, introduced the Duke of Edinburgh award to the pupils in Year 11.  This is a unique opportunity for the pupils to be able to build a variety of skills and experience many things for the very first time.

What is the Duke of Edinburgh Award?

As stated in the DofE website: “Leading youth Charity…giving all young people aged 14-24 the chance to develop skills for life and work, fulfil their potential and have a brighter future.

The DofE program is one filled with adventure and excitement from beginning to end.  Participants are given the opportunity to gain new experience, discover talents that they never thought they had and meet other young people.

The Award is recognised and appreciated by many colleges and Universities, and is a favourite on the UCAS applications.
